The A Cappella Choir Mission
The A Cappella Choir combines the attributes of each member to form a community that strives to create beauty and inspire others through the universal language of music.
The Central College A Cappella Choir has maintained a strong commitment to artistic choral excellence for over eighty years. As part of an American liberal arts university education, it is comprised of 60 select, auditioned students from across academic disciplines with a desire to develop artistic vision and the creative aspects of education. The ensemble performs a variety of choral literature ranging from the Renaissance era to Modern, 21st Century music. In addition to inspiring the campus community, the choir performs regularly in churches, cathedrals, schools, and concert halls across the United States and Internationally during annual tours. The choir is under the direction of Mark Babcock, the Farver Endowed Chair in Music and Director of Choral Activities.
